We Are Not Alone

We Are Not Alone is the second studio album by American rock band Breaking Benjamin, released on June 29, 2004. The hard rock album features 12 songs, including 3 singles “So Cold”, “Sooner or Later”, and “Rain”. The album depicts a grueling mental journey one faces inside their own head. It tells a story of different stages of emotions when going through the grieving process of coming into terms that one is never truly alone when they have different demons in their head.

This series consists of four compositions, 3 front covers and one back, that reflect an exploration in hierarchy and integration between type and image, cohesively working together as a system. Each front cover composition has a different hierarchical focus from type dominant, image dominant, and type/image integration. Each cover portrays different states of a mental breakdown, from erratic and frantic, anger, to being engulfed by darkness. The aggression of the band’s music is translated through the color red integrated cohesively throughout the set.
